Our history in Syracuse dates back! Business proceeded as usual for about 14 years until 1983, John Sr. started to notice a shift in most businesses transferring to suburban malls. This rise of suburban malls left John Sr. and his wife with a choice… to stay or conform to suburban mall society.
Founders, John Sr. and his wife made the life changing decision to remain on their own, located near the college. They knew that J-Michael would be able to be a shining factor in the city of Syracuse, as college students can work the shop and wear stylish looks from brands all around the world. The name J-Michael originated from John Sr. and his wife’s one-year-old son at the time, John Michael. As a tribute to their son, John Sr. built a family business that could be passed down from generation to generation.
Today, J-Michael is no longer just shoes, over the years, J-Michael has begun to slowly integrate the best brands through accessories and apparel.
